Burger Haven, a fast-casual spot in the Lower East Side, has transitioned its menu to predominantly plant-based options. The change comes after a six-month trial period in which plant-based burgers and sides accounted for the majority of sales. The new menu includes Beyond Meat and homemade veggie patties alongside vegan cheese and sauces.
Owner Michael Lee attributes the shift to customer demand and a long-term strategy for sustainability. While traditional beef options are no longer offered, the restaurant aims to maintain the casual vibe and price points customers expect. The transition has been accompanied by a modest interior refresh and new packaging materials.
