Uptown Harvest, a Harlem restaurant known for Southern comfort food, announced a transition to a fully plant-based menu starting May 1. The shift comes after a series of market tests and customer feedback over the past six months.
Chef-owner Latoya Greene said the change reflects both evolving consumer preferences and a commitment to sustainability. Signature dishes such as vegan fried “chicken” and jackfruit barbecue will replace meat-based originals. The restaurant will maintain its emphasis on bold flavors and traditional spices.
Uptown Harvest will also expand its drink offerings with organic teas and plant-based smoothies to complement the new menu. The move positions the restaurant within Harlem’s growing plant-based dining scene.
