A new vegan bakery, Root & Rise, opened this week on East 9th Street. The bakery specializes in plant-based pastries and breads, offering items such as croissants, muffins, and sourdough loaves without animal products.
The founders, former pastry chefs from Brooklyn, aim to provide vegan options in a neighborhood with growing demand for plant-based fare. Root & Rise operates daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and plans to expand its menu seasonally.
