La Vecina, a Latin American restaurant in Williamsburg, has appointed Chef Lina Martinez as its new executive chef. Martinez, formerly of San Juan’s Azul Bistro, joined the kitchen team last month. She plans to refresh the menu with a focus on Puerto Rican and Caribbean flavors while maintaining the restaurant’s existing popular dishes. La Vecina’s management said the change aims to attract a broader audience without alienating longtime patrons. Martinez brings over a decade of culinary experience to the role.
