Mission Cantina in Williamsburg has named Liam Torres as its new executive chef. Torres previously worked at several notable Brooklyn kitchens including Llama and Oxomoco. He takes over from founding chef Ana Delgado, who left last month to pursue a project in New Mexico.
Torres plans to maintain the restaurant’s Mexican street food focus while introducing new dishes inspired by coastal Mexican cuisine. “I want to keep the heart of Mission Cantina but bring some coastal flavors to the menu,” he said.
The restaurant will debut the new menu in late April. Mission Cantina has been a staple in Williamsburg since 2019.
